The Suit

The suit is thoughtfully designed in three distinct parts: pants, a vest, and a sleeve-attached t-shirt. 

The t-shirt features a soft cotton body with leather sleeves, and once the vest is worn over it, the shirt remains tucked underneath—completely hidden. 

Sleeves and t-shirt are seamlessly connected by an invisible zipper, allowing for a flawless blend. This design not only captures screen accuracy but also offers practical benefits: you can easily separate the pieces and only wash the cotton t-shirt.

While a three-piece suit was used in the original trilogy and Rogue One, what we’ve learned through the continuous exchange of information with fans, behind-the-scenes materials, books, and exhibitions is that each film tells its own story through a unique version of the suit, with subtle (and sometimes bold) differences woven into every detail. It's this rich tapestry of evolution and craftsmanship that you hold in your hands and it’s just one of the many things that set us apart from other makers.

In keeping with the original design, the lower legs are fashioned from fabric, offering enhanced breathability, ease of wear, and a more comfortable, flexible fit—ideal for extended wear, dynamic movement, allowing a snug, breathable fit that slips easily into boots. An integrated elastic strap wraps under the feet, keeping the suit securely in place as you move.

To keep you cooler during extended wear, we added a mesh lining in the upper chest and full back—completely invisible once the full costume is on. 

A back zipper with an extended pull strap lets you suit up on your own, inspired by surfwear functionality. 

Adjustable straps on the back offer a fine-tuning tool that adapts to subtle body changes over time. 

The pants include a standard front fly zipper for convenience, while the sleeves have them hidden on the cuffs. 

All our zippers are YKK, a renowned Japanese brand, which is known for its exceptional quality, durability, and long-lasting strength.

Every detail is thoughtfully crafted to enhance comfort, durability, and screen-accurate look.

The gloves:

They are hand-made using premium leather and sewn with nylon, which is a stronger and more durable thread.

The codpiece:

They’re made of natural, premium leather.   

Top and back, where the straps end, are reinforced with two security seams.

Adjustable fastener straps made of different materials depending on the movie. 

For ANH, ESB and ROTJ the fastener straps are made of the same leather as the rest of the codpiece, which are folded and stitched for reinforcement. For RO, they’re made of nylon and for the ROTS version we use a thicker full-grained leather. 

All versions have a nylon vertical securing strap, except for the ROTS version.

Sizes:

Except for the Codpiece, which is a one-size fits all item, Gloves and Suit are available in standard sizes for immediate fit, or meticulously tailor-made to your exact measurements—ensuring every piece is as unique and precise as the individual who wears it.

We also offer the option to craft the pieces based on the exact measurements of David Prowse, the actor from the original trilogy which is perfect for mannequins and displays that demand exact screen accuracy.

Leather:

For all the products described above, we use high-quality leather, with a thickness from 6 to 8 mm, which means we opt for a tanned leather.

Tannin bonds with collagen fibers and transforms the easily decomposed rawhide into a strong, waterproof material. 

It acts as a bonding agent, forming cross-links between the collagen fibers, which strengthens the leather's structure and gives it the following characteristics:

- Water resistance: Tannin creates a water-repellent barrier, protecting the leather from moisture and preventing deterioration.

- Durability: Tannin-tanned leather is more resistant to wear and tear, making it an ideal material for making items that require durability, such as footwear, bags, and belts.

- Flexibility: Despite its strength, tannin-tanned leather retains good flexibility, making it comfortable to wear and easy to work with. 

- Breathability: Tannin allows leather to breathe, allowing air to circulate through the fibers, creating a cooler, drier environment for the wearer.

Crafted using time-honored leatherworking techniques, this piece features full-grain leather dyed with aniline—a method that allows the dye to penetrate the entire thickness of the hide. This ensures a deep, uniform black that won’t fade or reveal a lighter core over time. As opposed to lower-grade leathers, which are surface-painted to conceal flaws and leave the inner layers untreated. 

With age and wear, our leather develops a natural patina without ever exposing a different color beneath.
